Business & Data Analyst, Brussels (Hybrid) – European Commission

Minimum experience: 5–7 years in business or data analysis, preferably in service-oriented or operationally intensive environments.

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Business & Data Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting Digital Transformation by delivering high-quality corporate solutions and information systems. This role supports the eCommerce DataHub program, focusing on business service delivery, data-driven decision-making, and service governance in a cloud-managed, high-availability environment.

The position bridges business analysis, data analytics, and IT service management, contributing to operational intelligence, continuous improvement, and agile transformation.

Key responsabilities:

• Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to identify and document IT system requirements.

• Translate real-world business needs into clear, implementable system specifications.

• Support data model design and ensure alignment with business requirements.

• Conduct structured analysis of workflows and service usage to identify inefficiencies and propose optimizations.

• Develop dashboards and visualizations (Power BI, Tableau) to communicate trends, risks, and KPIs.

• Define and monitor SLAs, OLAs, and KPIs for business-critical services.

• Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring service offerings meet user expectations.

• Support forecasting, demand planning, and capacity management using data-driven methods.

• Implement lightweight service governance and continuous improvement cycles.

• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Facilitate training and knowledge sharing on data tools and best practices.

IT skills and knowledge:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in business analysis methodologies and process improvement frameworks.

• Working knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles.

• Proficiency in data tools: Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL (Python/R is a plus).

• Ability to manage stakeholder alignment and drive consensus.

• Understanding of data governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Assets:

• Certifications in business analysis, data analytics, or ITSM are considered assets.

• Knowledge of the processes and organization of the trader’s supply chains.

• Experience in customs related projects.

Rate:

• 340-390€/day.

• Final rate will be defined by the final client (European Commission).
