Application Architect, Luxembourg (near-site) – EU Public Institution

Job role: Application Architect.

Minimum experience: 15 years.

DESCRIPTION:

The candidate must have at least 15 years of experience in IT and demonstrate solid knowledge in architecture best practices and patterns, microservices, and cloud architectures. The role requires strong skills in application design, modelling tools, Enterprise Architecture, relational DBMS, and business process analysis. The candidate should also have knowledge of interoperability technologies, including web services, message‑oriented middleware, service‑oriented bus, and event architecture. Strong communication abilities, both with technical and non‑technical audiences, are essential, as well as the capacity to give business and technical presentations, apply high‑quality standards, analyze and solve problems, write clear and structured technical documents, and actively participate in technical meetings.

Tasks:

·       Apply architecture best practices and patterns.

·       Work with microservices and cloud‑based architectures.

·       Perform application design activities.

·       Use modelling tools to support design and architecture.

·       Contribute to Enterprise Architecture practices.

·       Work with Relational DBMS.

·       Conduct business process analysis.

·       Ensure interoperability using web services, message‑oriented middleware, service‑oriented bus, and event architectures.

·       Deliver business and technical presentations.

·       Apply high‑quality standards in all deliverables.

·       Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

·       Perform analysis and problem‑solving tasks.

·       Write clear, structured technical documentation.

·       Participate in technical meetings.

Specific Expertise:

·       Excellent knowledge of Java 7 and later versions.

·       Excellent knowledge of development tools such as Eclipse/IntelliJ.

·       Minimum 15 years of professional experience in IT, including:

·       Minimum 8 years of experience with Java.

·       Minimum 3 years of experience with build/release automation solutions such as Bamboo or Jenkins.

·       Minimum 3 years of working experience with JBoss.

·       Minimum 7 years of experience with Oracle 11g and higher.

·       Minimum 8 years of experience troubleshooting Java applications.

·       Knowledge of EUR‑Lex, KOEL, and AI features related to authoritative access to EU law.

·       Knowledge of the EU Budget lifecycle.

·       Experience working with Maven and Ant.

·       Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies.

·       Experience with Confluence and Jira.

·       Experience with AWS Workspaces.

·       Experience with Xooof.

·       460-480 €/day.
