Backup and DR Engineer (Warsaw, on-site) – EU Public Institutions

Profile: Backup and DR Engineer (Disaster Recovery environments, Disaster Recovery solutions) – Level Standard.

Place of performance: Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw (70% on-site/ 30% remote).

Duration of the mission: 48 months.

Security Clearance: RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED.

Minimum level of education: Level 6.

English language skills (CEFR): B2.

Minimum IT relevant experience: 5 years (2 years in relevant/similar IT roles).

Award Criteria: 65% Quality / 35% Price (Minimum required scoring for interview: 70%.).

Rate: 236-246€/day (NWH); 310-320€/day (EWH); 4,5€/hour OnC.

• Expected NWH: 230 days x 4 years.

• Expected EWH: 12 days x 4 years.

• Expected OnC: 2150 h x 4 years.

Knowledge and skills:

· Experience in administration of enterprise-grade backup, restore and Disaster Recovery products.

· Experience integrating backup, restore and DR products with virtual infrastructure.

· Experience in backup and restore operations in on-premises and cloud environments.

· Experience in data replication technologies.

· Proven experience in Disaster Recovery services.

· Experience collaborating with multiple IT and support teams.

· Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based change, configuration and release management processes.

· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

· Proactive attitude with strong team-working spirit and user orientation.

· Very good communication skills.

· Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies and environments.

Specific expertise:

· Proven experience with backup of Red Hat OpenShift and container-based environments.

· Proven experience in Microsoft 365 backup solutions.

· Experience with Zerto replication.

· Commvault or Veeam certification.

Tasks and responsibilities:

· Administration of enterprise-class backup and restore products.

· Administration and operation of Disaster Recovery solutions.

· Management of backup and restore activities.

· Troubleshooting issues related to backup, restore and DR environments.

· Performance tuning, optimisation and capacity planning.

· Patch management activities.

· Monitoring, analysing and responding to alerts related to backup, restore and DR environments.

· Recommending and implementing best practices and security standards.

· Updating technical documentation and operational procedures.

· Implementing changes in accordance with ICT change management procedures.

· Providing second-line support to other IT teams and coordinating with third-line support.

· Participation in coordination meetings and project-related activities.

· Performing other duties aligned with the profile as assigned by the supervisor.

Travel: By default, travelling in the interest of service is not foreseen for this position/profile.

· Nevertheless, Frontex may exceptionally request to carry out some services at other locations than Frontex Headquarters or other Contracting Authority’s premises.
