Software Factory Architect (SOFA ARCH) (Warsaw, long-term mission) – Frontex

Profile: Software Factory Architect (SOFA ARCH) (Software development methodologies, DevSecOps, Software Factory).

Place of performance: hybrid, 60% remote / 40% onsite. On-site service provision - Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw.

Duration of the mission: 54 months.

Security Clearance: EU Restricted.

Minimum level of education: Level 7.

Minimum English language skills: B2.

Minimum IT relevant experience: 8 years (5 years in relevant positions).

Award Criteria: 50% Price / 50% Quality.

Minimum required scoring for interview: 60%.

Travel expenses: Only in exceptional cases (1.200€ x 3 years + 1.800€ 4th year).

Rate: Flexible. The rate offered depends on the candidate’s level, in accordance with the European public grading system. Further details are available upon discussion.

· Estimated NWH: 220days x 3 years + 330 days on 4th year (54 months in total).

Required technical certificates:

At least 2 certifications are required among:

· [1] Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.

· [2] Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent.

· [3] Red Hat® Certified Architect (RHCA) or equivalent.

· Each equivalent certification must be recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).

Knowledge and Skills

· [1] Knowledge in software architecture design for complex, distributed systems.

· [2] Proven experience designing enterprise-scale and cloud-native architectures.

· [3] Hands-on experience with backend and/or frontend development (e.g. .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript).

· [4] Strong DevSecOps knowledge including CI/CD strategy and platform design, container, orchestration, and platform engineering concepts.

· [5] Recognized technical leader with experience influencing teams without direct authority.

· [6] Ability to define and communicate architecture vision and technical strategies.

· [7] Ability to evaluate technical risk and make high-impact decisions.

· [8] Experience in mentoring senior engineers, development leads, technical leaders and architects.

· [9] Presents excellent communication skills.

· [10] Holds ability to document effectively.

· [11] Presents problem solving skills.

· [12] Presents leadership skills.

Specific Expertise

· [1] Strong understanding of architecture styles

· [2] Advance knowledge of Microsoft Azure services

· [3] Experience in modeliing systems in ArchiMate notation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

· 1. Provide consultations in software engineering areas.

· 2. Acting as a trusted technical advisor.

· 3. Design software development lifecycle and processes.

· 4. Recommend decisions and review end-to-end software solution architecture for complex projects.

· 5. Own and evolve the engineering vision across the software factory.

· 6. Define architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices.

· 7. Ensure consistency and alignment of architectures across enterprise.

Travel: By default, travelling in the interest of service is not foreseen for this position/profile.

· Nevertheless, Frontex may exceptionally request to carry out some services at other locations than Frontex Headquarters or other Contracting Authority’s premises.
