DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking a Senior Application Architect with strong experience in Semantic Web Technologies to join the eProcurement Ontology team.
The expert will contribute to the continued development of the TED Open Data Service and the ePO standard, supporting knowledge engineering activities, semantic data modelling, and technical coordination in an international environment.
Tasks:
· Contribution to knowledge engineering activities and review/follow-up of developments by external contractors.
· Development and maintenance of ontologies and knowledge graphs.
· Mapping of data sources to ontologies using RML or similar tools.
· Implementation of semantic data pipelines to convert data into RDF.
· Querying and analysis of semantic data using SPARQL.
· Collaboration with domain experts to capture and model knowledge.
· Review and preparation of technical documentation and presentations.
· Development and maintenance of internal tools and automations.
· Coordination and review of deliveries, releases, and deployments.
· Assistance in technical decision-making and project steering.
· Interaction with business analysts, customers, users, project leaders, and developers.
Specific expertise:
· Strong experience in Semantic Web technologies (RDF, RDF Schema, OWL, SHACL, SPARQL).
· Experience with RDF mappings (RML) and semantic data pipelines.
· Knowledge of ontology languages and tolos.
· Experience with semantic data stores (e.g., Virtuoso, Apache Jena, GraphDB).
· Proficiency in RDF serialization formats (Turtle, JSON-LD).
· Strong software engineering experience in Python and/or JavaScript.
· Solid background in data modelling, systems modelling and UML.
· Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitLab).
· Experience with Agile methodologies and backlog management tools (Jira, GitHub Issues).
· Knowledge of software lifecycle management, release management, and packaging.

· English (C1).

Rate:
· 370-440€/day. The rate offered depends on the candidate’s level, in accordance with the European Commission’s public grading system. Further details are available upon discussion.
