ICT Infrastructure Architect – Advanced Level (Warsaw, long-term, hybrid) - Frontex
Profile: ICT Infrastructure Architect – Advanced Level (ICT Core Infrastructure, On-premises & Hybrid Architecture, Kubernetes, Windows/Linux Platforms, RHOS).
Number of vacancies: 2.
Place of performance: Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw. 40% onsite + 60% remote.
Duration of the mission: 54 months.
Minimum level of education: Level 7.
Minimum English language skills: B2 (CEFR).
Minimum IT relevant experience: 8 years.
Minimum experience in similar roles: 5 years.
Rate: 530-545€/day (NWH).
· Expected NWH: 220 days x 3 years + 330 days for year 4.
Required Certifications
The candidate must hold at least 2 of the following certifications (or equivalent):
· VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV).
· Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
· Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).
· Iasa Architect CITA-A.
Knowledge and Skills
· Experience acting as key architect in at least two enterprise-wide ICT systems migrations and core ICT systems deployments.
· Expertise in hybrid systems architecture within enterprise environments.
· Strong experience designing enterprise-level core ICT systems and infrastructure solutions.
· Experience planning capacity, scalability and security of integration platform capabilities.
· Good knowledge of virtualization, containerization, on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments.
· Excellent technical knowledge of Identity Management and Active Directory, Microsoft System Center, databases, application servers, systems and application monitoring, middleware, modern workplace solutions, cloud integration patterns, cloud migration frameworks, systems integration, software and asset management.
· Sound knowledge of systems design using UML methodologies.
· Familiarity with ICT process design and implementation aligned with ITIL v4 practices.
· Proficiency using enterprise architecture and modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect or equivalent.
· Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and practices.
· Knowledge of architecture standards and frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, Azure Well-Architected Framework or similar.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Leadership skills with the ability to coordinate technical teams and initiatives.
Specific Expertise
· Hands-on experience with modelling using ArchiMate.
· Experience designing, configuring and maintaining Azure or AWS Landing Zones.
· Practical experience with Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift (RHOS).
· Strong experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux enterprise environments.
· Experience designing secure and scalable hybrid infrastructure solutions integrating on-premises and cloud services.
· Practical experience contributing to enterprise architecture governance and lifecycle management.
· Experience analysing infrastructure metrics and optimizing systems from performance, scalability and security perspectives.
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Set standards in scope of architecture, design, development, quality assurance and testing.
· Design and communicate enterprise core ICT systems architecture.
· Design interoperability mechanisms and interfaces between on-premises and cloud-based systems.
· Elicit business and technical requirements and analyse operational needs.
· Translate business, user and technical requirements into scalable and secure architectures.
· Map business goals, project benefits, priorities, components and system features.
· Analyse existing systems, platforms, applications and services.
· Identify and evaluate options for potential technical solutions.
· Maintain and track architecture deliverables throughout the systems lifecycle.
· Estimate and size software development and infrastructure implementation activities.
· Contribute to systems design, testing, quality assurance and change management processes.
· Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams and presentations.
· Lead technical teams and support development and infrastructure processes.
· Select, assess and recommend technologies and infrastructure solutions.
· Collect, analyse and interpret system and platform metrics.
· Optimise systems from performance, scalability, security and quality perspectives.
· Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture repository and maintain architecture artefacts such as ICT baselines and technology catalogues.
· Support DevSecOps and automation initiatives across infrastructure and platform services.
· Perform other architecture and infrastructure-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Travel
By default, travelling in the interest of service is not foreseen for this position/profile.
· Nevertheless, Frontex may exceptionally request services to be carried out at locations other than Frontex Headquarters or other Contracting Authority premises.
