At The WhITeam Consulting we are looking for a Solution Architect to work at a Eurpopean public agency. Main task will be designing, optimizing, and overseeing large-scale technology solutions.
Solution Architect at Warsaw, Poland (Near Site) for an European Public Agency
Role: Solution Architect
Seniority: Advanced (Minimum 8 years of IT relevant experience)
Education level: Master degree (ICT relevant degree is mandatory)
Level of English required: B2
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Modality: Nearsite * (Nearsite* = Contractor’s premises or declared place of telework by the Contractor but at a distance which allows the Contractor’s personnel to be Onsite at the assigned location within 2 hours from request. However, if required by business needs, the contractor may designate other locations within EU Member States. In such cases the Contracting Authority will define the assigned location for each Contractor’s staff member each time in the Request for Service. The travel time will not be considered as time of delivery of services).

Decentralized European Public Agency of the European Union headquartered in Warsaw, Poland. Its core mission is to support EU Member States in managing the external borders of the Schengen Area, ensuring high levels of internal security while facilitating legal border crossings. The agency plays a key role in operational cooperation, technical development, and scientific progress in border control, while also contributing to the protection of fundamental rights and the fight against irregular migration and human trafficking.
In this context, they require highly specialized IT services to design and optimize large-scale technology solutions that support its critical operations across the EU.
TASKS
- Sets standards in scope of design, development, quality and testing
- Designs and communicates system architecture
- Design interoperability and interfaces with other systems
- Elicits needs, analyses requirements
- Transfers business, users and technical needs into architectures
- Maps business goals, project benefits, priorities, components, system features
- Analyses available systems
- Identify options for potential solutions
- Maintains and tracks architecture in systems lifecycle
- Estimate and size software development works
- Contributes to systems design, testing, quality assurance, change management
- Prepares system documentation and provides presentations
- Lead development teams and development processes
- Selects and evaluates technologies
- Collects and interprets system metrics
- Optimizes system from performance, security and quality points of view
REQUIREMENT
Knowledge and Skills:
- Has performed role of key architect in development of at least 2 software systems (one, in the case of the basic profile).
- Expert in systems architecting in the relevant domain.
- Expert in designing enterprise level software systems.
- Expert in planning capacity and security of the systems.
- Holds excellent technical knowledge about: databases, application servers, communication middleware, web servers, GIS services, directory services, systems security on Microsoft platforms, business intelligence concepts, systems integration and Integrated Development Environments.
- Expert in designing in UML
- Expert in software development methodologies, lifecycles and artefacts like RUP, ISO12207 and agile methodologies.
- Is proficient in using systems modelling tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect, Aris Architect or others
- Presents excellent communication skills
- Holds ability to document effectively
- Presents problem solving skills
- Presents leadership skills
Specific requirements:
- Has knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of containerized applications, preferably on Red Hat Open Shift platform.
- Has knowledge and experience in designing and implementing reporting systems.
- Has knowledge and experience in designing and implementing human capital management (incl. worktime, workforce management) systems.
- Has knowledge and experience in optimization of architecture/designs/implementation of ICT systems.
CERTIFICATIONS
At least 2 certifications among:
• Master level certificate in a relevant software development technology domain or in architecting software
solutions (e.g. TOGAF Certified)
• Certified UML Professional certificate at foundation level or an equivalent certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).
* Copy of the certificate must be delivered.
Certification of english level:
To be verified on basis of the candidate's Personnel Submission Form and confirmed during the interview/test session. Copy of the certificate/assesment/verification must be delivered.
*The client provides the possibility of granting access to a platform for taking an English proficiency test at no cost, should the candidate not possess an official English language certificate*
