Role: Business Analyst
Seniority: Advanced (Minimum 8 years of IT relevant experience)
Education level: Bachelor degree (ICT relevant degree is mandatory)
Level of English required: C1
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Modality: Nearsite * (Nearsite* = Contractor’s premises or declared place of telework by the Contractor but at a distance which allows the Contractor’s personnelto be Onsite at the assigned location within 2 hours from request. If required by business needs, the contractor may designate other locations within EU Member States. In such cases the Contracting Authority will define the assigned location for each Contractor’s staff member each time in the Request for Service. The travel time will not be considered as time of delivery of services)
CONTEXT
Decentralized agency of the European Union headquartered in Warsaw, Poland. Its core mission is to support EU Member States in managing the external borders of the Schengen Area, ensuring high levels of internal security while facilitating legal border crossings. The agency plays a key role in operational cooperation, technical development, and scientific progress in border control, while also contributing to the protection of fundamental rights and the fight against irregular migration and human trafficking.
In this context, they require highly specialized IT services to design and optimize large-scale technology solutions that support its critical operations across the EU.
TASKS
- Models and documents value chain/streams, business processes, roles, capabilities and data.
- Elicits and analyses business needs, requirements and user stories.
- Supports business experts and product owners during definition of requirements and software development.
- Maintains and tracks requirements/user stories in systems lifecycle.
- Transfers business, users and technical needs into business requirements specification.
- Maps business goals, project benefits, priorities, components, system features.
- Analyses available systems.
- Supports identification of options for potential solutions.
- Supports preparation of business cases and feasibility studies.
- Contributes to systems design, testing, quality assurance, change management.
- Responsible for designing, validating, and testing business processes for achieving business process excellence.
- Responsible for taking a holistic approach in the planning and managing of a programmes for continuous improvements of business processes.
- Responsible for coaching the staff on upcoming changes, ensuring that a plan is in place to teach new skills and/or process changes.
- Collaborates with owners of end-to-end processes to continually seek out process improvements.
- Identifies opportunities for business process improvement leading to improved customer service, lower costs, or higher revenue (effectiveness and efficiency gains).
- Communicates project objectives, business case, requirements, and scope to all stakeholders, in order to better provide rapid responses to business needs.
- Quantitatively analyses business processes, performing cost-benefit and what-if analysis
- Plans organizational changes process
- Implements performance monitoring systems for business processes
- Supports business users in developing strategic and tactical plans (e.g. sector strategies, implementation plans etc.)
- Supports definition of transition roadmaps for business architectures
REQUIREMENT
Knowledge and Skills:
- Has gone at least 1 time through the complete lifecycle of the software solution.
- Knowledge in business processes modelling using BPMN notation.
- Knowledge in requirements/user stories elicitation and analysis.
- Knows analysis/modelling notations like UML (capability diagram, activity diagram, state diagram, logical data model etc.)
- Is proficient in using modelling tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect, Aris Architect or others.
- Presents excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Holds ability to create and maintain analytical and project documentation effectively.
- Presents problem solving skills.
Specific requirements:
- Participated and has experience in the role of Business Analyst in a project aimed at value stream mapping, business processes improvement or redesign.
- Participated and has experience in the role of Business Analyst in a project aimed at analysis, design, implementation and deployment of ICT Solution that enabled (1) content production or (2) multilevel, hierarchical reporting.
- Expert in organisation and managament of workshops, and has experience and knowledge how to prepare and conduct structure/ustructured interviews (incl. designing questionairs).
- Has experience in preparing and conducting market studies/research.
CERTIFICATIONS
At least 2 certifications among:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent
- Certified UML Professional certificate at foundation level or BPM 2 fundamental level or equivalent.
- Or equivalent certifications recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).
* Copy of the certificate must be delivered.
CERTIFICATION OF ENGLISH LEVEL
To be verified on basis of the candidate's Personnel Submission Form and confirmed during the interview/test session. Copy of the certificate/assesment/verification must be delivered.
